Venetia is a super heroine, beautiful but not vain and whilst very caring, she has an unsentimental assessment of her family. Georgette Heyer is always spot on in observing the social niceties and customs but delivering fun, likeable characters. Nobody does it better/5(K). Not only do I think that "Venetia" is Georgette Heyer's best novel, I think Venetia is one of her best characters, and certainly one of my favorite heroines in all romance fiction. She is extremely intelligent and well read, possesses poise, a wonderful sense of humor, and lots of common sense.5/5(5). Venetia is many readers’ favorite Heyer novel, but not mine.
